An up-and-coming group of young musicians debuted at the Lockenhaus Chamber Music Festival 30 years ago. The group included talented musicians from three Baltic countries, chosen by the world-renowned Latvian violinist Gidon Kremer. Kremerata Baltica was born and soon became one of the most valued chamber orchestras on the international music arena. Today, Kremerata continues to hold a seat among the best in the music industry. Collaborating with the legends of the music world – Jessye Norman, Martha Argerich, Mikhail Pletnev, Evgeny Kissin, Yo-Yo Ma, Mischa Maisky, Sir Simon Rattle, Esa-Pekka Salonen, Christoph Eschenbach, Vladimir Ashkenazy, Arvo Pärt, Giya Kancheli, Pēteris Vasks, Alexander Raskatov; continued performances on the most distinguished concert stages, incl. several times at the BBC Proms. The orchestra has won the Grammy Award in 2002 and 2015.
